Tiger takes a lead in USPGA

Still working on the principle that our readers not only like a flutter in a casino but also on other sports, we keep you up to date with a selection and today it is the USPGA Golf where Tiger Woods has taken a first round lead which may have thrown up some betting opportunities. Tiger has failed in his attempts at the first three majors, despite being odds on favourite in each by having poor, for his standards, early rounds, but this time he has a lead. Tiger has never lost a tournament when leading the field at the start of the final day but there are still two days to go before we reach that stage. For Tiger backers if you didn’t getyour bet on early there is little value left, the best we could find is 11/13 with bwin but there is surely value with some of the others. What about our own Padraig Harrington? Back to some good form recently and of course defending champion at this event, only one shot behind Woods after round one and being offered at between 13/2 and 8/1 (William Hill). If you fancy McIlroy he is 4 off the lead which is a bit to make up but  66/1 is available. For each way gamblers PaddyPower is the place to be as they are offering ¼ for 5 places while most are offering only 4 places or how about backing any other golfer to win except Woods? Available at 1.85 (equivalent to 11/13) at bwin. Not great odds but it only takes a couple of wild shots from Tiger and you won’t get it anymore tomorrow.
