More interesting news for Irish online casino games fans

Under normal circumstances our desire to update our readers with any Irish online casino news would concentrate on the online casino operator Paddy Power and more recently the new All Irish casino, which are the only two online casino operators based in Ireland. However it was recently pointed out to us that Irish online casino games players have access to almost all the online casinos, and many do play their favourite casino games with other online casinos and would therefore be interested in any online casino news relating to the other sites they are using. With this in mind therefore we have decided to take a look at what appears to be a huge success story in the online gambling sector. Bet365 is now the biggest online casino operator in Britain, with a reported £20 billion wagered on its website in the year ending March 1013. This figure is more than the sum enjoyed by Ladbrokes and William Hill combined, and resulted in profits increasing by a staggering 54 % to £179 million, although losses associated with their stake in Stoke City football club swallowed £31 million of this sum. Bet365 is of course still a family owned business, with over 50% of the shares owned by its founder Denise Coates, the daughter of Peter Coates the chairman of Stoke City. In the light of recent revelations regarding the tax affairs of some major international companies, some of which it has to be said have benefited Ireland, the British HMRC have good reason to be thankful that Bet365 have opted not to follow Ladbrokes and William Hill who both moved offshore several years ago, and are still based in Stoke where they are now the biggest private industry employer. They also therefore paid £31 million in corporation tax to the British treasury. Bet365 are one of the most successful online companies in Europe and having recently obtained new gambling licences for Spain, Denmark and Austria with hopes of similar deals in Germany and Greece, further growth seems assured.
