The tournaments are Texas Hold’em, multi table, freeze out tournaments but with the difference that you can be eliminated even before you have lost all your money. The game is played in a series of rounds and at the end of each round the bottom 10% of players (those with the smallest stack) are eliminated. To help you there is an indication of how you are doing which are a “full heart” icon which means you should be safe for the next round, a “half filled heart” icon which is a warning and a “skull and crossbones” icon indicating that you are in the bottom 10% and need to do something. There is also an indication of the time remaining before the end of the round. As you can imagine, the pressure of being in a risky position with time running out can make you take risks that you might otherwise not take but how are your opponents going to interpret your action? If you are fortunate to have a big stack are you willing to take a risk against a desperate player to mop up his chips cheaply. Your stack goes forward with you so the bigger the better at any stage of the game. This is a variation in which you need to think quickly and change your approach as the game progresses; a lot of fun and buy ins are only €5, €10 or €20 with prize money and places according the number of entrants.
