Choose an online casino in which to play

Doubling up is a poor online casino tip

One of the worst casino tips whether it be for an online casino or a land based casino is to follow the doubling up strategy. The doubling up strategy is generally used for roulette or other straightforward casino games such as blackjack although in theory it can be used for any games in which you are playing against the dealer and the principle is that when you lose a hand or a spin your next stake is double the previous one and if you lose again you double again and so on until you eventually win. As a gambling tip the strategy is of course mathematically sound but it makes two assumptions neither of which are true. Firstly that you have an endless supply of cash or at least no limits on your online casino deposits and secondly that the casino game table at which you are playing has no limits. Only you know about the first one but as far as table limits are concerned all online casino tables have limits for minimum and maximum bets and it is this that can be the downfall of the strategy. A normal roulette table or blackjack game will have a maximum table limit set at a multiple of the lower limit; the best you can hope for is 500 (minimum 1 maximum 500) but some tables will have a multiple of 100 or for high roller tables the maximum might only be 10 times the lower limit (minimum 100 maximum 1000). What you have to realise is that even with the best spread of 500 only 9 consecutive losing bets will put you in an irretrievable situation. Following the doubling up strategy after 9 losing bets you will be out of pocket by 511 units and your maximum bet is 500 so even if you win the 10th bet you are still out of pocket by 11 units. Any online casino tip that advocates doubling up should be viewed with extreme caution; it can work but it can also go radically wrong.
