Bwin announce a new head of their poker division

In a push to change the focus of their Poker operation, Bwin have announced the appointment of Peter Bertilsson to the position of Managing Director of Bwin games AB which runs the poker division. Mr Bertilsson who takes over from Carl Klingberg is the former head of Boss Media and is credited with the transformation of that company into more B2B focus. B2B by the way means Business to Business and describes the dealings of a company when they sell to another company rather than directly to a consumer which in online casino terms means selling software to other casino brands. Bwin will of course continue to use their own software as well. Bwin is an Austrian group and one of the largest operators in the gaming market offering a very wide range of betting opportunities includes sports, casino and other games including some of the more unusual ones like Backgammon, Yatzy, Keno or dice games. Bwin is already active in the Italian poker market and sees B2B as the way forward in the US market when that eventually frees up and also the Asian market. Chief Executive Norbert Teufelberger confirmed this thinking when talking about the appointment of Mr Bertilsson he said “We have convinced a true veteran of online gaming B2B business to take the challenge leading this business unit. As the market changes in that fast moving industry, the B2B capabilities will be key for USA and Asia but also for riding the regulation wave in Europe”. Bwin is not alone in this thinking as we reported some time ago on 888’s activity with their Dragonfish subsidiary which focuses exclusively on B2B operations.
