The latest online casino news concerns speculation

Time for us here at onlinecasino.ie to have a look at the latest online casino news, which this month focuses on whether recent speculation over Bwin Party is starting to come to fruition. A couple of months ago Bwin Party, who own Party Poker and are active in the online casino sector announced that they had received approaches from several interested parties with a view to a takeover of the company. Since then there has been considerable speculation as to who these potential suitors might be, with front runners including many of our biggest online casino operators, including William Hill, Paddy Power and even Ladbrokes as an outside bet. Also in the running is Amaya, the Canadian owner of PokerStars and the leading online casino software supplier Playtech. In fact most analysts seem to think that these two are the favourites, although William Hill is coming up on the rails to use a racing metaphor. Having announced a satisfactory performance in their recent fourth quarter update, William Hill may well be interested in making a bid for Bwin Party, currently valued at around £ 1 billion, and many analysts think that a deal like that would allow their relatively new chief executive James Henderson to make his mark and put further distance between themselves and their now distant rivals Ladbrokes. At the moment it would appear that everyone is keeping very quiet about whether there has been any significant progress, but that inevitably leads to further speculation as stock market investors try to pick a winner. Here at onlinecasino.ie we will of course try to keep our readers up to date if and when there is anything to report.
