Bwin picks up Operator of the year Award

by admin on December 5, 2009, 9:14

Old Billingsgate in London was the venue for the annual  EGR awards last week to recognise achievement, excellence and innovation in the online gambling industry and the top award, that of “Operator of the year 2009” went to Bwin and was presented in front of 900 attendees. The Austrian based group was represented by UK country manager Nic Wenn  who received the award and said “ It’s great that bwin has won this award after 10 years”, “bwin has carried on leading the way in opening new territiories in Europe and leading the technological advance in our industry”.  We assume that the reference to new territiories had something to do with the acquisition of Italian company Gioco Digitale which it is hoped will open up the Italian market once regulation has been sorted out. The panel who judged the contest also commented on the company’s consistency, brand strength and commitment to responsible gambling . Competition was stiff from other brands and there were other titles up for grabs; 888 for example were winners of “Casino operator of the year”. Both of these sites are recognised by e-COGRA (e Commerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance) who were also present at the awards and Andrew Beveridge, Chief Executive said “ we are very proud to be associated with these well managed operations, which have once again proved that a sincere commitment to integrity and professionalism is good for players, good for business and good for the industry”. We agree entirely and are pleased to recommend these casinos that carry e-COGRA recognition.
