Blackjack remains one of the most popular casino games

There is no better example of this than when you are dealt a hand with a value of 16. Do you stick with 16 or do you draw a card. A quick look at the odds will show that on 16 there is a 60% chance that you will bust your hand with another card, and this is of course where you have the edge over the dealer because the dealer must draw a card on 16. Most other dealt hands will normally be a pretty straightforward choice. For example, it is very unlikely that you will draw another card on 17 or more, and any hand of 11 or less clearly can’t bust whatever card is drawn. The most important decisions arise when your hand is between 12 and 16. Most blackjack gamblers will draw a card on 12 because there is a 70% chance you will improve the hand, but these odds gradually reduce at 13,14,and 15, and as we have already pointed out, at 16 there is only a 40% chance that the hand will be improved. As with all other casino games, blackjack is still a game of chance and you still need the luck of the draw if you are going to win, but knowledge of the odds will undoubtedly improve your chances of winning.
