How many pints of Guinness will be sold in Dublin pubs on Arthurs Day on Thursday 24th ? If you know the answer to this one, Paddy Power have the odds and several other bets under their “novelty bets” section. Favourite for this is 200,001 to 300,000 at 5/2 followed closely at 3/1 by 300,001 to 400,000 but it jumps to 5/1 for 400,001 to 500,00. It may of course be that the number of pints consumed is limited by the Guinness available so you can also bet on how many of those Dublin pubs will run out of the black stuff. Paddy Power seem to think less than 10 and they are offering odds of 5/4 with 10 to 20 at 9/4. Just think; how many times do you get to influence the outcome of your bet? If that is not enough, there is a petition to make Arthurs Day a National Holiday but the bookmaker obviously doesn’t believe it will succeed as the odds are 16/1; they also believe that the Guinness Storehouse Bar is well stocked as that is 33/1 to run out on the day. Whatever your thoughts, have a great day on Thursday but remember Friday is still a working day for most folk, although maybe fewer than normal this Friday!
